Kathleen M. Luisi, RDH

Kathy owned and operated a licensed family daycare from 1987 until 1996.  She received her Associate in Science Degree-Dental Hygiene in 1998 from Cape Cod Community College where she was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa.  From 1998 until 2010 Kathy worked in private practice while volunteering her services to local elementary schools.  In 2010 she was awarded a grant from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, enabling her to begin a career as a public health dental hygienist.  Since then, as co-owner of MASS Children Healthy Smiles, she has provided dental cleanings, fluoride varnish applications, dental sealants and education to children of all ages using portable equipment in public locations.  Through this organization she has helped many children overcome their fear of being in a dental environment, providing for many, their first dental experience.  Through these screenings Kathy was able to identify many urgent dental issues and refer her patients to a dentist for immediate attention.  It has been a rewarding experience for Kathy to have taught children of all ages the importance of proper dental hygiene. With the experience and knowledge she has gained working with children for her 25 year career, Kathy has formed Mass Kidz Healthy Smiles.  She looks forward to continuing to provide preventive dental services to many more children.
